Magento → Shopify

Move from Magento to Shopify.

Replace a heavy Magento or Adobe Commerce setup, and the developer time it needs, with a platform your team can run. Catalog, customers, orders, store views and URLs come with you.

Why stores move

What changes when you leave Magento.

Less to maintain

No server stack, security patching or upgrade projects. Shopify runs the platform.

Magento 1 is past end of life

Magento 1 stopped receiving security patches in June 2020. If you still run it, a move is overdue.

Extensions, rethought

Many Magento extensions map to Shopify features, apps or Shopify Functions with far less custom code.

What moves over

Your data comes with you.

Shopify's own guidance is to import products first, then customers, then historical orders. We follow it and check the result.

Products

Titles, descriptions, images, variants, prices, stock and SEO fields.

Customers

Names, emails, addresses and marketing consent. Passwords can't be moved, so customers sign in again.

Order history

Past orders, imported after products and customers so they link to the right records.

Content

Blog posts, pages, gift cards and store credit where the old platform exports them.

URLs and SEO

A 301 redirect for every old product, category and page URL, plus titles and meta descriptions.

Integrations

ERP, email, reviews and shipping tools reconnected or replaced.

Where Magento migrations need care

The parts we plan before moving anything.

Store views and languages

Magento store views for countries or languages map to Shopify Markets (languages, currencies and domains per market) or to separate stores. We choose with you.

Configurable and bundle products

Configurable products become variants. Bundles and complex options are rebuilt with Shopify features or apps.

Custom extensions

Custom pricing, checkout and catalog logic is rebuilt as a Shopify app, a checkout extension or a Shopify Function.

URLs ending in .html

Magento URLs often end in .html and sit under category paths. Every one is redirected to its Shopify address.

How a migration runs

Planned, rehearsed, then switched.

Your old store keeps selling until the moment we switch the domain.

01 / AUDIT

Map everything

Every product type, plugin, integration, URL and legal page on the old store, and what each becomes on Shopify.

02 / MOVE

Import and check

Products first, then customers, then order history, so records link up. Then a line-by-line check of the data.

03 / BUILD

Theme and features

Theme, checkout, payments, taxes, shipping and the apps or custom code that replace old plugins.

04 / LAUNCH

Redirect and switch

Redirects for every old URL, test orders, domain switch, sitemap submitted, and a watch on traffic after launch.

FAQ

Magento migration questions.

Will we lose our Google rankings?

Rankings depend on many things, but the biggest avoidable risk is broken URLs. We redirect every old product, category and page URL to its new address before the domain switch, then submit the new sitemap and watch for errors after launch.

Can the old store keep selling during the migration?

Yes. We build and test on Shopify while the old store runs. Orders placed during the build are brought across in a final sync before the switch.

Can customer passwords be moved?

No. Passwords are stored in a form no platform can read or transfer. Customer accounts move over, and customers sign in again on Shopify.

Can B2B features like customer groups move?

Customer-specific pricing and company accounts depend on your Shopify plan and setup. We map Magento customer groups and tier prices to Shopify's B2B features or an app during the audit.
