Shopify in France

Shopify for France.

Many French stores run on PrestaShop or WooCommerce. We move them to Shopify with French content, the legal pages French law asks for, and the payment methods French shoppers use.

What to plan for

What's specific to France.

French language

French law requires product information, terms and other consumer-facing content to be available in French. French is set up as the default or a published language with its own URLs.

Legal notice and terms

Mentions légales, conditions générales de vente, withdrawal policy and privacy policy, linked from every page and from checkout.

Consumer mediation

Online sellers to French consumers must give details of a consumer mediator. We place this in your terms and footer.

Payments

Card payments and wallets through Shopify Payments, plus buy-now-pay-later methods such as Klarna or Scalapay where your store is eligible.

Local payments

Payment methods to consider.

Supported by Shopify Payments for customers in these countries, subject to your store's country, currency and eligibility.

How a migration runs

Planned, rehearsed, then switched.

Your old store keeps selling until the moment we switch the domain.

01 / AUDIT

Map everything

Every product type, plugin, integration, URL and legal page on the old store, and what each becomes on Shopify.

02 / MOVE

Import and check

Products first, then customers, then order history, so records link up. Then a line-by-line check of the data.

03 / BUILD

Theme and features

Theme, checkout, payments, taxes, shipping and the apps or custom code that replace old plugins.

04 / LAUNCH

Redirect and switch

Redirects for every old URL, test orders, domain switch, sitemap submitted, and a watch on traffic after launch.

FAQ

Questions about France.

We are on PrestaShop with many modules. Is that a problem?

No, but every active module needs a decision: built-in Shopify feature, app or custom code. That list is the core of our audit.

Do you write our legal texts?

No. Legal texts should come from a lawyer. We place them correctly on Shopify and link them from checkout and emails.

Can we sell to Belgium and Switzerland in French too?

Yes. Markets can share French content while using their own currency, prices and tax settings.
